Well done the litter pickers

EIGHTEEEN adults and five children turned up for the Wingerworth ‘Litter Pick' over four sessions this weekend. The following areas were 'cleared' :-Saturday Hill Houses Lane, Hockley Lane, Malthouse Lane, Pearce Lane , Watson Lane and Swathwick Lane from the Barley Mow to Ivy House Farm; Sunday Central Drive and Wall Pond, Langer Lane. The Lido (excluding Smithy Pond car park).

There was quite a large amount of rubbish'stockpiled' in the Parish Hall car park including a bike, wheelbarrow, two car tyres, several wheel discs and about 100 black bags. Now that the volunteers have completed their part of the exercise perhaps NEDDC could clear the rest of Swathwick Lane and Birkin Lane since both roads are far too dangerous for the residents to be involved.
